Upcoming electric safety work in your community

Dear Valued Customer,

Your safety is our most important responsibility. As part of that commitment, we will be upgrading or replacing the transmission towers or poles in your community. This work will increase the strength of our electric grid.

Where the work will occur

Our work will take place near the transmission towers crossing Novato Creek in Novato, beginning in the next few weeks. Weather and other factors that affect safe working conditions may change our schedule.

What you can expect

  • Our crews may use cranes and/or helicopters to perform this work
  • PG&E contractor trucks and other equipment in the area
  • We may need access to your property to complete our work and will contact you if special arrangements are necessary
  • All personnel are require to carry valid photo identification and will provide it upon request
  • Your electric service should not be interrupted, but we will contact you if there are any changes.

STRAW is seeking volunteers at the Novato Baylands

Volunteering with Point Blue’s Students and Teachers Restoring a Watershed (STRAW) at the Novato Baylands is a fantastic way to get involved in wetland restoration along the shore of San Pablo Bay, through field work and our native plant nursery, while meeting new people who share a passion for this important work.

Volunteer programming is offered Tuesdays and Fridays between 8am-12pm and Wednesday 1-3pm. Tours are also available upon request.

Upcoming PG&E Aerial Safety Inspections

PG&E will be in our area using a helicopter and/or drone to inspect the nearby electric towers and equipment. These safety inspections will take place within the next two weeks.

What you can expect

  • During inspections, you may see and hear a helicopter and/or drone flying close to the equipment.
  • They may hover in the same location to perform these inspections, and if they do, it will usually be for less than 30 minutes.
  • Pilots will follow all safety standards and federal regulations.
  • You may also see and hear PG&E and/or contractor trucks in the area

BMK’s Emergency Lock Repair Crew

BMK’s Emergency Lock Repair Crew [Chris Fehring, Terry Friesen, Michael Gadoua, Vince Lattanzio, Rocco Lattanzio, Steve Nash, Dan Retz] responded Saturday morning to address and remedy a boating hazard at the South Lock. The locks underwent some general maintenance and both are now safe to navigate.
